How auto correct could be ruining my life

So, just getting back used to actually using a computer and the funniest thing happened. When I say it happened, it occurred multiple times. I start a word, and I wait for it to finish. Its like I expect my computer to realize what I am trying to say and it is not going to happen. The reason, my computer does not have auto correct!!! While I have spent several days calling this feature all sorts of names, when you do not have it, you realize its effect. My spelling has regressed quite a bit due to rarely finishing words. I can only imagine how much my grammar will actually improve in the coming weeks now that I have to think things out again. Which is a good thing, because I want to write more, and it would be nice for other people to not only enjoy it, but comprehend it. So back to the main point, auto correct has made me lazy. I guess its the motive of my phone, to be smarter than I am, which I have mixed feelings about. On one hand, I can message faster than ever since im only writing half the word. On the other hand, sometimes auto correct decides what will be sent or said. Thanks auto correct!! (Said no one ever without being sarcastic) Anyways,I am excited for the increased vocabulary in the coming weeks due to being able to type again. Maybe I should just take auto correct off my phone and really take things to the extreme. However, I dont want to get too far ahead of myself, unless I start shouting at the computer expecting it to make words magically appear. Unless it really wants to :)

Why you should tip your server or go to McDonalds.

By looking at the title you probably think I am being bias because I am a server. You may actually be partially correct because as of today that is my main source of income. However, even if I was working an hourly wage position I would still feel the same way. What most people know is yes, servers on their own free will agree to only be guaranteed by their employer 2.13 an hour. Yes, servers know that they are subject to the consumer to how much they are compensated. Yes, consumers are generally going to be paying generally at least 12 dollars for a meal and expect to be treated with respect and the experience is more important than the food itself. What the consumer doesn't know or actually think about is while their meal is quite expensive, do they really know how much goes into that meal? First and foremost is food costs. To cook the meal itself for only two people would more than likely average out to 12-15 per person right there mostly due to high fuel and shipping cost. Plus, packaging in small prices at a grocery store makes costs go up as well However, due to getting food in mass amounts, it cuts down these cost to a much more manageable price depending more on meat and produce quality. Next lets go into preparing the meal. Although most restaurants get a meal to the consumer in 12-18 minutes once ordered, most meals take hours to prepare to a point to be cooked. Anyone at home who can prepare a great meal in that timeframe including all the spices and seasonings please explain to me how to do so. More like two to four hours on average unless we are talking about marinating steaks or preparing ribs to be nice and tender. For restaurants, cooks on average make $9-15 dollars an hour depending on the quality of restaurant. Which I am sure at $50-75 per plate averages the wages are much higher, or at least they should be because I think cooks are underpaid and underappreciated. I have been a cook before at a restaurant and its really hard work. And yes, let us now go over the experience. For an hour, you get to be treated like a king or queen. Someone hopefully cheerful is awaiting your arrival and takes you to the seating of your choice. Then you get to choose the beverage of your choice and not have to get up to have refills. You get a selection of 40-60 options and not have to do anything but tell someone else what that is. You get your food brought to you and the dishes taken away for someone else to wash. And depending on when you go, you can even have some conversation if you desire or just someone quietly bring you your requests. And if these things happen as I just described you think this experience is only worth two or three dollars? Now I agree, if the food is terrible, you stay thirsty and you deal with someone as rude as your mother in-law, that's pretty appropriate. However, you probably should just not deal with that establishment again. Sadly, some people feel that they pay plenty enough for the meal and the server doesn't have to work that job. A few people also feel like a handshake and telling a server a job well done should mean more than a few dollars. While it does feel nice to know a job well done, it doesn't pay the bills. If these same people can go to my bank and tell them to knock a few bucks off my mortgage or car note for the month, and it actually works, I would definitely be fine with that more than money. The world however doesn't work that way. Yes the economy isn't what it was ten years ago and the restaurant industry has been hit hard because of it. The quality of service has went down because the good servers cant afford to hone their craft for peanuts and have to find other types of work. Everyone cant afford to pay a 40 dollar meal and then a $6-10 tip to compensate properly for the restaurant experience. That's why I titled my rant ending with going to McDonalds. If you cant do the full experience, then you should save your money and eat where the food is cheaper, more mass produced, not great service, but you can feed a family of four for the same price of one person at a nice restaurant. Do that enough and you may have the money to go to a nice place here and there and really get good service and actually appreciate it a little more. On our end, yes we wont see as many people, but we will be more excited to see the people we do. Six times eight equals a lot more than 10 times 4. And gives me time to give better service at the same time so its a win/win. Then maybe one day with better service, that six turns to ten but with the same great service and even if the tip drops to seven, that still seventy dollars. The family that goes out to eat one less time a month saves $40 dollars that can go to something else and they appreciate the time they had at their favorite restaurant. To the people that already appreciate the experience and tip their waiters and waitresses that deserve it, we thank you. To the uneducated that may have learned something, I hope this helps. I'm taking the optimistic approach that a lot of poor tippers may not know some of the things I mentioned as far as what goes into their meal. To the ones that know exactly what you're doing, I hope your kids have to serve and you get to know how it really does feel. That or become strippers because they were poorly tipped. Till next time.

To Start Off......

So, here I am about to start another blog and wonder, what in the world am I doing with myself? Where do I stand as a person and where do I want to go? And what the hell have I been doing with myself. Guess it doesn't matter what I've been doing as much as what I'm planning to do. And that first thing is cutting off my Facebook page. Why you ask, well why wouldn't I? It has made my life too convenient and made me lazy in being a friend. Facebook also takes up way too much time that I could be doing thingdt such as exercising or writing blogs. And while some may say you can make posts on Facebook, in reality I've been very limited in what can be said. With Facebook, it's one huge web where everyone is connected and if you're completely honest, that can cause unneeded drama. My life can find enough drama on it's own. Therefore it's just easier to leave it activated so I can utilize my messenger but lose the password so I can't look at it. Maybe that doesnt make sense to a lot of people, but it doesn't have to anymore because hundreds of people more than likely won't see this. So, ask yourself, what do u have your account for? I'm sure in honesty it's for a good reason and I definitely see the advantages to the site. It's just not to my advantage right now as there are things that I need to do on a personal level. Well here are my thoughts on that first step and I'm sure as I unravel my mind there will be other steps and thoughts on those steps. I am enjoying writing again already.....
